Improve The Quality Of Life In Your Community

DONATE TO THE WINNEBAGO COUNTY SWCD

The Winnebago County Soil and Water Conservation District is an agreement with the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois to hold and manage any donations made to the District.

The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is a non-profit organization founded in 1953.  It is a 501 (c)3 organization which means when someone makes a contribution, donation or gift through them it is tax deductible.  This is not the case with the Winnebago County SWCD because we are not designated a 501 (c)3 organization according to the IRS Code.  By entering into this agreement with the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois both the donor and the District will benefit.

When a donation is made to the foundation the donor can stipulate who the contribution is for and how they wish it to be utilized.  The Foundation will manage the fund to assure it meets the specified requirements and invest it to assure the fund continues to grow.

Donations can include cash gifts, real estate, publicly traded securities or closely held stocks, mutual fund shares, tangible personal property, private foundation transfers and retirement plan assets.  Donations made to the Winnebago County SWCD would be utilized to achieve our goal of protecting, maintaining, and wisely using our natural resources unless otherwise stated by the donor.

Anyone interested in receiving more information about making a donation to the Winnebago County SWCD can contact the District office at (815) 965-2392, ext. 3 or email Dennis Anthony.  More information about the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois can be received by visiting their website at www.cfnil.org or by calling their office at (815) 962-2110.

Donations are entirely tax-deductible.  To learn more about how to give to the Northeaster Illinois Envirothon, please call the District office at (815) 965-2392, Ext. 3.  Information about the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is available at www.cfnil.org or by calling (815) 962-2110.

The Northeastern Illinois Envirothon provides hands-on environmental education to High School age students and advisors to foster an understanding of the human interaction with natural resources.
